XL Deploy allows you to schedule deployment tasks for execution at a specified later moment in time. Scheduled deployment tasks work just like other scheduled tasks; refer to Understanding tasks in XL Deploy for information about the way XL Deploy handles scheduled tasks, including important information about archiving and failures.

To schedule a deployment using the default GUI:

  1. Expand Applications, and then expand the application for which you want to schedule a deployment.
  2. Hover over the desired deployment package or provisioning package, click Explorer action menu, and then select Deploy. A new tab appears in the right pane.
  3. Select the target environment and click Continue.
  4. Click the arrow icon on the Deploy button and select Schedule.
  5. In the Schedule window, select the date and time that you want to execute the deployment task. Specify the time using your local timezone.

  6. Click Schedule.

To schedule a deployment using the legacy GUI:

  1. Go to the Deployment Workspace.
  2. Select a deployment package and environment.
  3. Click Advanced.
  4. Click Schedule.

    In the Schedule window, select the date and time that you want to execute the deployment task. Specify the time using your local timezone.

  5. Click OK to schedule the task.

View scheduled deployments

To view scheduled deployment tasks using the default GUI, click the Task Monitor in the left pane. Note that you can only see deployment tasks that you have permission to view.

To view scheduled deployment tasks using the legacy GUI, click the gear icon and select Task Monitor.

Note: Although control tasks and discover tasks can also be scheduled, you will not see them in the Task Monitor when using the legacy GUI. They appear in the Repository.

Reschedule a deployment

To reschedule a scheduled deployment task using the legacy GUI:

  1. Double-click the deployment task in the Task Monitor to open its deployment plan.
  2. Click Schedule.
  3. In the Schedule window, select a new date and time.
  4. Click OK.
